Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This Cookie Policy explains how Mailtr.co ("we", "us", and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies, and what your choices are.

The short version: we set two cookies, both of which exist to sign you in and keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember you between visits, and — on many sites, though not this one — to build a profile of your browsing for analytics or advertising.

2. The cookies we set

CookiePurposeHow long it lasts
refreshKeeps you signed in, so you do not have to re-enter your password on every page.Until you sign out. If you did not choose "remember me", it is deleted when you close your browser.
2fa_sessionHolds your place during two-factor authentication, between entering your password and entering your code.5 minutes.

Both are strictly necessary: without them you cannot sign in. Both are set as httpOnly, meaning JavaScript on the page cannot read them, which protects them from theft by cross-site scripting. Neither contains information about your browsing.

3. What we do not use

We want to be specific rather than vague about this, because most cookie policies are not:

  • No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other website analytics product. We do not measure how you move around this site.
  • No advertising or targeting. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not build a profile of your interests, and we do not share anything with ad networks.
  • No cross-site tracking. We do not track you across other websites, and we set no third-party tracking pixels on this site.

Because we set no cookies that require your consent, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If that changes, we will ask for your consent before setting anything non-essential, and update this page first.

4. Browser storage we use

Alongside the cookies above, we store some settings in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device, is not sent to our servers, and is not used to identify or track you. It remembers things like your light or dark theme preference, which workspace you last had open, your progress through product tours, drafts and autosaves in the email editor, and your recent searches.

You can clear this at any time through your browser's settings for site data. Doing so will reset those preferences.

5. Third parties

Browsing our public website loads nothing from anyone else. Fonts are served from our own servers, and there are no third-party scripts, embeds, or pixels on our marketing or legal pages.

Two places inside the product do contact a third party, and only when you actively use them:

  • Payments. When you start a payment, we load the checkout provided by our payment provider, Razorpay, so that your card details go directly to them and never through us. Razorpay sets its own cookies when its checkout opens, governed by its own privacy and cookie policies. This never happens on page load, and never if you do not purchase.
  • The email editor. When you open the editor, it loads the web fonts used in email templates from Google Fonts, so that your design previews in the same typefaces your recipients will see. If you add your own font from a Google Fonts link, that font is loaded the same way. This requests a stylesheet and font files — Google does not set cookies for it, but it does receive your IP address as part of the request. It happens only while you have the editor open.

6. How can I control cookies?

Every browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies through its settings, usually under Privacy or Site Data. You can block ours if you wish — but because the only cookies we set are the ones that sign you in, blocking them means you will not be able to log in to Mailtr.
